The S brand

Just like the latest applebyte podcast which featured some of the Android news. I would like to talk a bit of the S brand. 

Based on some interaction with my S branded friends. The reason for them to get it is because iPhone's screen is too small. Not enough for them to view. And some of them said that the game size is small on phone but not enough resolution when played on iPad with 2x enlargement. Some say, it just boring to look at the phone design which almost identical every year. 

I am not going to counter cos some of it are facts. But I just want to point out the bigger picture. 

To people who think a phone can replace everything. Let dream about it and keep your S brand. To people who like to play game. App Store is having much more high quality and quantity games than google play. To people who think design are boring in apple. Think about those car brand like BMW, Audi, farrari.... They kept the same design in their range of car so that you can easily spot them. 

If apple do not have it owns design taste. It is not apple anymore. 

Anyway, apple just proved that gold color of phone can sell well too. Not like others who fail to achieve the target and trying to follow the trend. 

Advertisement can be evil

Speaking of it and looking around people around me who is having Samsung phone. I notice that S brand people like to criticize and making some unreasonable compare. They like to say something that "the iPhone is no different. Why change". But did they ask themselves what has been changed ever since smart phone with a big screen? 

Advertisement really can affect people till this state. And I am glad that apple is making "classy" ad still. That make us not to talk much of argue much about the product that we are using. Apple people will just keep quiet and defense when necessary. But S brand like to attack first. This is the trend and it will never end till the S brand stop their stupid ad. 

Anyway, to the business point of view. S brand won and I will have to see how long can this carry on. Till 100% of people using their phone? Time will tell

iPhone 5c / 5s

As the tradition goes... The looks of the phone do not have much different. But both hardware and software upgraded over our time. Thinking out of the box is what mattered. 

Let talk about hardware:

To have the same housing but different hardware installed inside. A new chip A7 and M7. Touch sensor for finger print scanning. Dual LED for photo taking. Better battery performance. 

New chip for faster processing and graphic enhancement. As the CHAIR demo of Infiniti blade 3 which enable 64 bit of architecture design. More power for gaming. 

Touch sensor for secure phone unlock and iTunes purchase. And they manage to put into the same button as you wake up your phone and unlock at the same time. 

Dual LED for low light photography. No company is doing this to compensate the white balance. 

3 major features with forward thinking in hardware. 

Software:

iOS 7 which built from ground. Redesign everything with transparent effect. And alot more hidden features which I am not able to name them all. (Which competitor can't do it as they have a new hardware but not able to have the latest android version to go with it)

HD video recording with 120fps which is 4 times slower than the usual 30fps video. To give you more possibility to look at the same thing in different prospect. 

iWork, GarageBand and iPhoto will come with iPhone 5s that give you more productivity on the latest hardware. 

I do not want to compare the 2 different world here. But people like to mix them up. To have a iPhone. Is not about just the phone. Is about the whole Eco system on apple. They are connected to one another. I don't like people to compare the size of the phone. Just like comparing a woman with better body shape but not about the brain.   

"Open" system

The so called "open" system from android actually is a closed system which share information without informing the owner. Location, email and personal information that stored in the phone. The play store which is having no one to control. Any one with USD$25 can steal a source code and publish on it. That is why the playstore have more app than AppStore. Ridiculously true!!!

To all my android friend (especially those who changed from ios). DID YOU EVER CREATE ANYTHING USING THIS OPEN SYSTEM FOR YOUR OWN BENEFIT? What is open mean to you? Like change the wallpaper, customize ringtone or a special UI which no one know how to use except you? I don't mind having a phone which is so "boring" that everyone know how to use. At least when I need someone to help me to dial a call out. Someone will know how to do so.... Right?

Base on the history that Mac OS copied by Microsoft and yet they became the biggest software company. This time round is not going to come true as cheap , elegant and fully integrated machine are coming from apple. It is the time will tell...

The copycatS

Android just launched a framework to auto update it fragmented OS platform which allow special privilege to install update. That is something that a open source system is doing? Open source mean you can have anything you wanted which is not going to be control by others. This is against itself. Nice try google. 

And to be honest... Steve job's vision is coming true when close system is the best system. Look at the world right now. Google got Motorola. Microsoft got Nokia. Android is having an own smartphone. Microsoft launched it own tablet. Can you see the trend? Can you feel that it is similar to apple Eco system? To have everything just work out of the box. 

You can say I am bias but I am not a hobbyist which allow people to use my system not the way I want it to. When you create something. You want people to use it the way you want them to be to maximum the productivity. That is the key. 

As more and more close system is forming. I would love to see how Samsung and others PC company survive. They are getting lesser and lesser from the pie. The only work around is to lower down the price but it will hurt their profit.

To save the ringtone. You need to send it using the Email icon to your computer and sync it with iTunes.

And I will update the app to support picture that already been taken using Manual mode. Which enable you to place the goggles anywhere on the screen manually. THANKS again for all the feedbacks. I can hear you loud and clear

Airport extreme 2013 version

This is the easiest ever Wireless router I setup before. It even think of iOS owner which didn't required any Personal Computer to be turn on in order to set this baby up. I am glad that the software development is still going strong in APPLE. And Steve did a good job to inherited this kind of "user first" experience to APPLE!

Setting Up AirPort Extreme Using an iOS device
You’ll need:
 An iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch
 iOS 6.1 or later
Check Settings on your iOS device for the latest version of iOS.
To set it up:
1 Tap Settings on the Home screen, then tap Wi-Fi.
2 Tap the name of your AirPort Extreme.
3 Follow the onscreen instructions to create a new network or extend an existing network. 

Colorstax

InstaChum has been replaced by "Colorstax" as apple rejected the name related to "insta" this word. But somehow I found a lot of app name started with INSTA yet they are doing well in app store. Not trying to whining here but I am glad that they did it on me. And I happened to found the name of "STAX" in the near future for all my product line.
